In 1974 Alto Albright invented a better way to cut mats for his wife's paintings. The Alto's EZ-Mat Mat Cutting System is a very simple-to-use mat cutter that is still being sold and used by thousands of artists and crafts people around the world. Since then, Alto's EZ Mat Inc. has designed and produced a complete line of mat cutting tools that are popular for their ease of use and professional results.
In 1999 some quilters requested that we make a tool to help them measure and cut fabric. Through substantial research and consultation with professional quilters, we developed the original QuiltCut, followed by the QuiltCut2 and QuiltCut Pro. We are a small family-owned company and our crew assembles all our tools by hand in our factory in Ellensburg, Washington. We are proud of our quality products, and personal customer service is our priority.
